Dog at Christmas

Huge thank you to all our wonderful customers for your support throughout this year, and what a year it has been!! We keep adding to and improving the Kirklevington field (more to come in 2024!), and we opened the amazing indoor Dog Discovery Barn at Sexhow, Hutton Rudby, bringing more choice to our canine companions.  Our second field will open in 2024-its going to be fantastic-we can’t wait!!

If you are still looking for the perfect present, we have some lovely gift certificates available online or via post should you wish. Just visit our website www.k9fun-time.co.uk

We’ve welcomed our son Oliver to our family, who has stolen all our hearts-including his sisters, Jemima.  We have also welcomed Karen into the K9 Fun-Time Family, she has been absolutely amazing, and we love having her in the team 😊

We continue to support local charities, including our summer dog show, free hire of facilities, food bins and donations for www.maxismates.org.uk , The Lost Dog Trapping Team etc.  We also make it a priority to support other local/small businesses where we can.  Running a small business is tough, and we all need to help each other.

There has been the introduction of the XL Bully ban which has been a difficult time for many, including ourselves.  As a business, we are also impacted by any law changes, as are our insurers, and the most up to date field/barn hire information for XL’s is on our website https://k9fun-time.co.uk/xl-bully

We could go on….but all that we really want to say is thank you, and a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all !!

Merry Christmas to all, love the K9 Fun-Time Team

November’s Blog…..thank goodness for the Indoor Barn!

November’s Blog…..thank goodness for the Indoor Barn!

Winter is definitely making itself known now.  October was the wettest on record, but we were really pleased with how the Kirklevington Field stood up to the wet weather….all the planning, design and draining paid off.  The Dog Discovery Barn was an absolute godsend, and was enjoyed by lots of customers, new and existing.  www.dakotaschoiceabt.com and tees valley dog training are still offering lots of wonderful training over the coming months, and throughout the rest of the winter.

We always try hard to give back to the dog care community in any way we can, and one of the things we are doing this winter is having a food Donation bin inside the Dog Discovery Barn.  This is in aid of maxismates.org.uk and The Lost Dog Trapping Team, who are desperately in need of grain-free wet dog food, tinned sardines, tinned steak etc.  Full details are available in the barn or on our social media platforms.  We are always happy to pick up donations too for those who might not be able to travel to the barn.

Lest we forget.  We remember those, both human, canine, equine etc who gave their lives for us.  You will see the painted poppies all around the Dog Discovery Barn to support britishlegion.org.uk

We are already starting to plan all things festive, and are looking forward to putting up the Christmas decorations at the field and the barn.  We have some Doggy Christmas parties to plan too….more information coming soon.  As always we are open every day over the festive period to ensure our customers get the very best service- make sure you book your slot soon!

For those of you who don’t know what to buy your beautiful dog for Christmas, look no further…we have gift vouchers available to purchase online www.k9fun-time.co.uk , or handwritten gift certificates if you’d prefer.

Flaming June, it really was…..hopefully things will cool down a bit!

Our second blog to tell you about all things K9 Fun-Time….it has been a busy month, and we have lots to look forward to in the coming months.

Autumn may seem like a long way away, but please book in for your induction for the indoor Dog Discovery Barn so you are all ready for the rain- if you are a current member- please get in touch prior as Inductions may not be necessary.

Dog Welfare

Our priority at K9 Fun-Time is to ensure the highest levels of canine welfare, hence checking vaccinations and ensuring all users attend an induction session.  We know not everyone insists on this, but high standards are not something we will apologise for.  Please send undated vaccinations through as soon as you receive them to hello@k9fun-time.co.uk ….spot checks will be made 😊.

With some hotter days on the horizon, please check before booking if your dog will be comfortable with the temperature. The field has plenty of shaded spots, trees, equipment and lovely long grass, but all dogs are different and have different needs.  Below is a useful pic from the www.dogstrust.co.uk to help with heatstroke recognition.

Throughout July and into the coming months there are some fantastic courses being run by Lucynda at www.dakotaschoiceabt.com including the Puppy Pickle, Advanced training (for those teenage years), and many more.  There is also a new, exciting announcement to make, for some summer fun…clues will be released throughout July- here’s the first…can you guess??

Barking Mad May

Barking Mad May at K9Fun-Time

We have had a busy month at K9Fun-Time.  Not only has our Indoor Dog Discovery Barn got up and running, but we have also been involved in a number of charity events.

We have had some amazing trainers such as Lucynda from Dakota's Choice and Natalie from Tees Valley Dog Training.  Lucynda has been busy running many Scentventure classes, Behaviour, Puppy classes etc as well as 1:1 training sessions- all the details of which can be found on her website.  Natalie has had some wonderful Hoopers classes running from the barn, and has more running next month.

The benefits of both to your dogs behaviour and quality of life is huge…..which will you choose to take part in next?

Charity Dog show Boxer Dog winner with our guest judge, Alison, from Maxi’s Mates.

We have run a charity dog show at the Hutton Rudby Coronation event in aid of Maxi's Mates rescue and Rehoming Centre.  The smile on the dogs and the humans faces says it all….so much fun- everything from Radiant Rescue, to the Dog that looks most like their owner.

The gorgeous German Shepherd, Bear, winning his class- definitely a pampered pooch!

We were also main sponsor of the Middlesbrough and Stockton Mind charity event, Bark in the Park, and saw many new and existing clients, which was fabulous.  We had a great time with Lucynda and her team of Dakotas Choice Animal Behaviour and Training, running a have-a-go agility and Envirofun stand- lots of fun was had! We also ran a raffle in Aid of Mind Charity.

Over the month we managed to raise nearly £500 for local charities, which we are really proud of.

Charity dog show Radiant Rescue winners- look at the smile on this gorgeous Greyhounds face- they make such wonderful pets

The rain has at last stopped and our Secure Dog Walking Field at Kirklevington is looking fantastic.  Perfect for some off-lead fun in a secure and enriching environment.

The Indoor Dog Discovery Barn is a brilliant addition to our dog centric facilities, and we have been getting some lovely feedback from our clients.  Remember- this is a great space, whatever the weather.  It will keep you and your dogs dry and mud-free, but also it’s a great space in the shade on those hotter days. Please just drop us a line if you would like a look around hello@k9fun-time.co.uk, or visit our website www.k9fun-time.co.uk

As always, a huge thank you to all our wonderful customers, both canine and human, for your support and for being so amazing- it really is appreciated.
